一、在英語句子的表達中，表示列舉的連接詞主要有，for example, for instance, such as, take …for example. Except (for)等等，它們的主要的作用就是用來舉例說明，使句子的表達更加的形象、清晰。
for example一般只舉同類人或物中的一個為例，作插入語，可置于句首、句中或句末。例如：
1. Have they, for example, demonstrated a commitment to democracy? 例如，他們是否已表現(xiàn)出會致力于民主？
2. Many factors are important, for example class, gender, age and ethnicity. 許多因素都很重要，如階級、性別、年齡及民族。

二、such as也是用來表示舉例的連接詞，它一般用來列舉同類人或物中的幾個例子，插在被列舉的例子和前面的名詞之間，as后沒有逗號。如：
1. He has been to many countries, such as America, Japan and Germany.他去過很多國家，比如美國、日本和德國。
2.He can speak three foreign languages, namely Chinese, English and French.他能說三門外語，即漢語、英語和法語。

三、take...for example是一個固定用法，意思是以......為例，例如：
1.Take it for example, please. 請以此為例。
2.Take his method for example, it saves time.照著他的方法去做，節(jié)省時間。
3.Take apples for example, it could help preventing heart attack.拿蘋果來說，吃蘋果可以預防心臟病。

四、for instance的意思是：例如,譬如,比如,比方說；
instance和example是同義詞，它們都表示“例子”的意思。因此 for instance 就等于for example，都是“舉例而言”的意思。for instance可以前置或者后置。
1. Take general elections for instance.
2. We made many improvements to our house; for instance, we painted the walls and bought new carpet.
